Re: Trying to identify this watch

: Thank you for the advice. Per the Omega site, it is a 1982
: Seamaster Jubile. 6 jewels. Says it is steel, but my watch is
: plainly gold. Is there a way to dig deeper into that? I cannot
: seem to find much about this style. I would love for this to be
: the beginning of a new hobby, but this is already proving to be
: a bit cryptic. Inside number:1950284/3960974.

The Omega vintage website is far from complete, and first does not list every watch they ever sold. Second, it does not include every variation in case metal and strap/bracelet combination. However, most watches were sold in a couple of metals.

The first number you provided is the reference: 195.0284; the second is for a similar watch with a bracelet. (The numbers contain a coding; see ChronoMaddox on the masthead above to explore further.)

You did not provide the calibre number or movement serial number from the watch movement. It would appear the movement should be a calibre 1435. The movement serial can provide the approximate age.

There was more detailed information available on an older version of the Omega Vintage Database. The older database was less user friendly, but included retail price information and variations of case metals/straps from catalogs of the era. You may wish to check the links in ChronoMaddox for Steve Waddington's website of vintage catalogs (the link is not on this PC, as I am traveling with a work computer).
