Hi Charles that's a bit unlikely because if anything during shipping the watch may undergo magnetic fields thatbwould accelerate its beat: how old is the certification?
Furthermore, over how long a period have you verified it's 8 sec per day slow?
Remember it should be at least a couple of days starting from a manually full wound status.
