I am considering buying the vintage Omega watch shown in the photo below. I have not had an Omega watch since I was a teenager. It was a Seamaster with a sweep secondhand and no date. I purchased it for $75 in approximately 1972-1973. Stupidly, I gave it away about 10 years later thinking I would never need a manual wind watch without a date as quartz watches were the rage. I would love to have that watch today! I can't even find an ID for it and I have researched it. The photo below is of a steel omega with gold markers and hands that I am looking at. It is a manual wind calibre 269 movement. The person selling it is asking for $700. It seems a bit high for this watch, although I have not seen it in person yet. From the picture, it seems a bit banged up. He says he has the original box and papers, if that is of any value. It seems that these watches sale on average between $350 and $500. Am I correct about this? I want to be fair as I am interested in it. Curious if anybody knows whether markers and hands in that era were solid gold or plated? Any information or advice anybody can share about this watch would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
