...there are some advantages of waiting until after Christmas to buy.
Authorized dealers--especially in popular locations like shopping malls--often get a lot of watches returned or exchanged in the 30 days or so after Christmas. That not only cancels out a bit of end of year and January sales, but also leaves them with extra stock on hand when they have to calculate their inventory for tax purposes.
So between Christmas and the end of January is a good time to negotiate price on remaining and returned inventory at these authorized dealers.
