SMPC Divers extension clasp.

Derek,Ihave a SMPC with a clasp that keeps undoing itself.I checked in your FAQ and noticed that there should be a small flange at the hinge on the extension that tucks under the crossbar to lock down.My bracelet does not have this small flange.Bracelet does not say made in France.Watch was purchased new in October 1996.Any ideas why my bracelet is different.Is there another way to close it properly.Could this bracelet be the problematic made in France one ?
