In Response To: 150th Anniversary Seamaster ()

A watch is like a car, impossible to keep completely pristine unless you keep it locked up and never use it. All you need to do is send it in to a jeweler once a year or so for a simple exterior cleanup. Beyond that, don't worry.

And in particular, don't get silly finding ways to spend lots of money or effort over every trivial spot it gets in normal use--especially those that are "hardly noticable." You will drive yourself nuts, waste a lot of money and effort, and not enjoy your watch if you fret over such details.

Instead, spend that money and time doing something nice for someone. When you are gone, nobody will give a crap that you were the guy whose expensive watch was always looked perfect under 5x mangnification. But they will remember whether you did something nice that made a positive difference in their lives.
