When OMEGA modify the ETA 7750 Valjoux movement to turn it into their Calibre 1164, as used in the
SMP full size chronograph, does anyone no if OMEGA modify or replace the plastic bearing that is used
as standard on the chronograph centre wheel in the ETA 7750 Valjoux movement? Also does anyone no
if OMEGA modify the chronograph 12 hour totalizer wheel in the ETA Cal 7750, so that in the Cal 1164, it doesn't run in the chronograph base plate, "minus bearing or bush"? I ask these questions as I have great concern that running the centre second chronograph hand often, if not permanently, will cause significant wear on these parts over a relatively short period of time, necessitating plate replacement perhaps within
a decade or so? Which one shouldn't expect to be the case, for a high end Swiss watch (should have a jewelled bearing)! Although I expect there will be less wear on the chronograph centre wheel plastic bearing.
So does anyone own a OMEGA with a ETA 7750 movement dating back to 1974, that has been worn regularly and can tell me what the wear characteristics have been on these delicate parts?
