I am having SMP Blk/Blk 22545000, I have also noticed this on the second hand - but only one nick, none on the hour nor the minute hand.
I think I know exactly what you describe. I agree with you with sending back the watch to replace.
I am looking forward for other responses, especially from Derek Ziglar.
I think a word "RELAX" will appear again :)
