What I came away with was: I really dont use the chronograph functions on any of the chrono watches that I already have. I wanted something easy and quick to read that had a clean dial with date and sweep second hand. I also live in a place that water sports are very popular and I knew that the watch would get wet although I dont plan on using it for jet ski or anything like that. Plus I dont have any COSC certified watches and I wanted one just to have it but I have to say the SMP that I purchased is keeping superb time. I have had it over a week and experimenting with positions at night I have kept it within 3 seconds of atomic time since I have owned it and I have only set it once...when I first got it.

: I came to this forum some time ago to gather
: information on the Seamaster Pro thinking
: this was the watch for me. I still love the
: Seamaster, however in browsing the web and
: frequent stops at the local mall jewelers I
: have found myself leaning towards a
: Speedmaster. Specifically the date model
: 3513.5 This will be an every day watch and
: although its unlikely it I will ever test
: its 30m depth rating, I am active an
: somewhat hard on watches. I would like to
: know if the Seamaster is significantly more
: durable than the Speedy and if so in what
: ways because this will influence my
: decision. Also info on legibility at night
: would be of interest. This is a what I
: consider a major change in direction because
: what drew me to the Seamaster was is rugged
: reputation. Buying both is not an option at
: this time. I am very confused. Thanks for
: your help in advance and thanks for a great
: site.
