That is a bit extreme. While it is nothing wrong with the watch, the date mechanism is clearly far off adjustment. Possibly someone who examined the watch before you got it fiddled with it incorrectly and threw it out of adjustment.
Yes, you may want to return to the dealer and have them swap it for another watch. Don't let them talk you into letting them send it in to be fixed. You just bought the watch and should not be subjected to waiting days or weeks to have such a simple aspect put to right.
