1st 48 hours with my new Speedmaster...... *PIC*

Love it! Gets better looking by the minute. I synchronized it with GMT.com and it ran 5 seconds fast in the first 48 hours. How does this stack up?
Considering that it sat in the jewelers window for 18 months, I think that’s pretty good. I assume, like all things mechanical, it needs to be ‘run in’. Also, it’s a real job to wind as its stiff. Will this improve over time?

Good Points…. Looks to die for!…weight…great feeling of satisfaction…
Bad points ….. Stiff winding !

As it’s the 30th anniversary model and I want to give it to my son for his 21st birthday in 19 years, would it be a good idea to buy a new crystal, tachymetre and back case now and store them for a rebuild at this time. The reason I say a new back is to protect the Ltd Ed one on it presently. These items seem to crop up on eBay from time to time.

Any thoughts?
