Until last week I owned a SS/18k Speedmaster, which I think was a lot less "anonymous" than the usual Moonwatch. I sold it and bought and Seamaster Pro "Bond" version. I'm happier with it for a number of reasons:
1, The Speedmaster felt fragile & was easily scratched. The SMP seems much more robust and really feels like it will last a lifetime
2, The general feel of the SMP is better than the Speedmaster as it feels so solidly built and looks to be of much higher quality of manufacture
3, There was no date on the Speedmaster I had which I personally found really irritating.
Hope this helps
