Maybe it was down to the strange lighting that seems to exists only in jewellery shops but when I tried on the Bond SMP, its face seemed almost electric blue, whereas the black face was far more understated. I'm not bad-mouthing the Bond watch at all; in fact I got the assistant to let me try all permutations of old/new watch with old/new bracelet before I made my decision and in the end went with new/new but it was a close call.
