I just bought the new 2254.50.00 full-size Seamaster Pro Chronometer black face/bezel in steel last weekend and am loving it! Mind you, my previous watch for the last 5 years has been a Timex Triathalon watch, so this is quite a change...and the first nice watch I've ever owned. I feel so fortunate to have been able to afford one after so long.
Before I bought it, my only criteria was that it be of high quality, good value and simple rugged, design. I also had a black face steel watch in mind. After doing some research (talking to various jewellers and watch afficianados like my uncle...), the Omega came out on top.
It's day 4 and I'm still adjusting to the heft of this watch. It sure is heavy. After reading through zOwie's tech specs and FAQ's, I managed to learn quite alot about the DO's and DONT's about this watch.
I'm glad to see there are others out there who possess the same zeal in seeking and sharing knowledge.
Cheers,
Dale
