: I am considering the SS Rolex Sub and the SMP
: 2254.5. I am aware of the basic differences
: including price and name recognition.
: However, I would like opinions on the real
: differences i.e. construction quality, fit
: & finish, and overall appeal. I am
: leaning towards the SMP mainly based on
: price and the apparent similarities in
: quality and appearance, however if there is
: real value in the higher price of Rolex I am
: willing and able to pay.
I'm fairly new here and certainly no authority but
for what it's worth, I now have a 2253.80 and have
had a Rolex Datejust SS/18Kt. Don't know about the Submariner but I think the quality of the Omega is equal to the Rolex. You can pay plenty
for a name (Mercedes for instance) or find equal
quality and much better bang for your buck in other brands. If I were you, I'd buy the Omega.
You could always trade "up" later but I'll bet you
will be satisfied.
