I just finished detailing a SMP bracelet and read
somewhere, probably here, that to remove all the
abrasive grit, you should have them cleaned in an
ultrasonic cleaning tank. My local mall jeweler
refused to clean it stating that the abrasives in
the solution are much too harsh and would damage
the SS bracelet, yet they clean gold items in it and gold is much softer than SS. What's the deal?
Is this typical "ignorant employee syndrome" or
do they have a valid point?
