Hello,
Here is my situation.
I'll try to make this not too long.
My Dad had an omega that was his Dad's. Very simple, Stainless steel,
from about 1960 I would guess (within 5 or 6 years).
The band broke and he lost it onto the subway tracks and couldn't get it
back.
I found out about it and was upset, as I thought that it would be one
thing of grandpa's that would be handed down from father to son to son
etc. and it meant quite a lot to me.
Anyway, I got to looking to see if I could find something that was
close.
I started looking in local watch shops and couldn't find anything, so I
checked on ebay. After a while I found something that was close (not
quite it really). I bid on it and did get it yesterday,
Omega automatic seamaster Deville. It has a date, my Dad's didn't. It
loses about 4 mins in 24 hours (if I extrapolate from the 12 hours that
I've had it going so far).
Here is what bothers me. It clatters back and forth in it's case, I can
see and hear it flopping around (the watch dial/watch inside the
crystal/case). It must move about a mm. This doesn't seem right to me.

That is the watch.
Would love to know what you think.
Also did I pay a reasonable amount and does a repair sound like a big
one? I'm trying to educate myself a little before I contact the fellow that sold it to me. I suppose the next step is to take it to a technician.Appreciate any info.
Thanks a lot , hope that this wasn't too boring,
Josh Lincoln
