Well, are your needs more for a somewhat dressy look? Mix of dressy and casual, or very casual?

Frankly, the SMPs especially the black or GMT look great with any number of strap options. Have even seen one on a black NATO-style strap and it looked great.

I'd suggest getting the watch on the standard bracelet and buy yourself several types of aftermarket straps. Quite a few are available for $15-25 each from several reliable folks on the Internet. See the TimeZone.com Sales Corner and look for people like RonZ, Howard Marx and DON. Also consider buying a deployant clasp from these folks too. Nice touch for spiffing up a standard strap setup.

That way yuou can change the look whenever you want. It's like having a new watch every week!

Would love to do something similar with my Bond SMP, but the blue color of the watch does somewhat limit the strap options that look right.
