Very good point.
While the SM 300 is a really neat watch, you should definitely consider the merits of paying such a premium price for a vintage watch. The watch may really be 'worth it' on the used market because of its condition and rarity. But is it really going to be worth all that extra money to *you*?
If your objective really is to add that specific watch to your collection, then this may be a superb find! But if you are not heavily into the collectibility--maybe paying such a high premium for a 'rare' vintage may not be the best bang for the buck in your watch budget.
If you like the look, then for the same or *less* money, you can buy a brand new, in warranty, still guaranteed water resistant, black dial SMP that looks *very* similar.
Just think it through. In five years from now, which would you likely be happier that you bought today?
