I have scratches, dings and other signs of carelessness almost everywhere on my Seamaster Pro, except for the crystal. Most of them are on the clasp and bracelet. I just leave them so. Never actually thought of getting rid of them. I can still remember a TZer said that he could read the scracthes on his watch and tell its history. I guess I am quite so.
So don't worry too much about the scracth and enjoy the watch! :)
