It is not possible. THe same mechanism that prevents the automatic winding from overwinding also prevents you from overwinding it from the crown.

No technical reason for doing it in any particular order.
But generally it makes more sense to set the TIME first. That's because you may need to roll the hands past 12:00 at least once to see when the date changes (midnight). You do that so you can set the time accordingly so your date does not change during the middle of the day.
