Thanks very much for this information; I thought it seemed a little too good to be true - the looks of the older Omega watches really appeal to me, but I've always wanted to get a good-looking mechanical watch with GMT, stopwatch, and suitable for watersports too; if anyone knows of such a device *please* let me know!
I suppose the perfect watch for me doesn't yet exist. I've had quite a few quartz watches, but they don't always run so well in extremes of temperature - in my experience they're super accurate unless you go ski-ing or leave them out in the sun, plus most LCD displays are illegible in bright direct sun. The battery always seems to pack up at the most inconvenient time/location, too!
It looks like I either buy this one and keep my old Seiko Diver's for holidays (not a great watch but fairly tough and OK for the money, I suppose), or give away the Seiko, buy a new Omega GMT Seamaster and live without a stopwatch.
