Hi old pal,
I have my grandfather's 1937 Girard Perregaux and dread the day when it may need a new part. Remember this watch is 64 years old (manfacture--the movement inhouse made) and my grandfather passed on 30 years ago. My quartz watches are all powered by ETA movements. If they fail, the entire movement can be replaced at a modest price (Seiko or ETA). At the end of the day (my or your lifetime), someone else will have to make a decision!
Cheers, Clyde
