Exactly.
I'd be a nervous wreck by the time my friend got back with the watch. Always best to get the immediate gratification of walking out of the dealer wearing your new watch. But at least having an out-of-state authorized dealer ship you one allows you to monitor the package's location en route.
Though if I bought one on a trip, I'd probably be distracted enough by it that I'd miss noticing half the rest of my vacation!
