Even if you do have to pay a few bucks, why is that a problem? They won't be charging you $50 to $100 for that service, if that is what you were afraid of. Probably be $5 or $10 at most. Surely you would not want to risk ruining a new >$1000 watch by being afraid to pay $5-10 to have a professional adjust the bracelet for you!
I've never had a problem getting an authorized dealer to size the watch for free. I don't remember the question of where I bought the watch ever coming up. But if it does, I'd use the simple response of 'it was a gift.'
They probably won't charge you unless it is obviously a gray market watch which has had its serial number removed.
