I HIGHLY recommend vintage Omegas for this purpose. 350 pounds is about, what, 500 US dollars? That is reasonable for excellent condition ones warranted by the seller. I see many steel ones here in the US that sell for $250-500. Some better gold ones sell for $450-800.
My personal favorite are the pink gold ones on a black strap. Everybody wears yellow gold, so why have your special dress watch look like everybody else's?
Best to but from someone who sells and repairs watches. They are more likely to have adequately checked them out and may offer a several week warranty to ensure it settles in right.
