Actually, that probably is NOT a problem. There are only a few dozen different sizes of watch batteries. Yet there are millions of watches out there that use them. The same sizes are used over and over.

So it is unlikely that any particular size/type of battery will cease to be produced.

I just got replacement batteries for a quartz watch from 1974 with no problem. Had numerous places that carried the right size and type battery.

So I think replacement batteries will be the LEAST of the worries of quartz watch owners.
