: Are the old (10-15 years old) Tag Heuer 1000
: series automatic divers(200 meters) watches
: as reliable as the older Omega Seamasters?
Don't know for sure, but I certainly see a lot of 10, 20 and even 30 year old Seamasters for sale in excellent running condition.
The older Tag Heuer were much better watches than the current ones. They are now a maker of average quality watches riding on the name. But the vintage Heuer and some of the earlier Tag watches are supposed to be very good. But I am not familiar with them enough to advise when the transition was from the better older ones to the more mediocre current ones.
: Do they have the same movements?
No. Even though most Omega movements for the past 15 years are based on ETA movements, they are heavily modified and customized exclusive to Omega. So while it is not unusual for other watches to contain similar movements (an unmodified or differently modified version of the base ETA piece), no other brand will have the same movement as an Omega.
