Have had several people post recently who had *dangerously* incorrect rememberances of information previously seen here. Always better to ask for clarification (or use the forum's search feature to find the earlier messages) than have a totally screwed up understanding based on vague rememberances.
That discussion of a $650 service was on a TOTAL FACTORY RESTORATION on a battered and non-functional vintage Omega. It was one someone inherited and was deciding whether it was worth restoring for the sentimental value.
That is certainly NOT the cost for a routine service on a quartz model!
