Adjusting the movement with that screw really is easy. But that is only part of it. Like you mentioned, ensuring the water resistance when you reseal the case is a big issue.

The red dot has nothing to do with validaing or voiding the warranty. It is there only to alert the initial buyer whether the watch was opened since it left the factory.

Simple servicing or battery change of you watch won't void the warranty either--unless you do the servicing improperly and damage the watch.
