I would check the battery........>

Seems to me I remember hearing that a low battery might cause problems like this. X-33s tend to sit on the shelves for a while before they are sold. I purchased mine in Jan of 2000 and it was actually made in October of `98. That would be one of my suggestions before returning the watch or deciding it's a lemon.
