The SMP is a millemeter or two wider, but the GMT is a couple of millemeters thicker. The SMPs smaller thickness tends to accentuate its greater diameter even more. In addition, if you have the Bond SMP the bracelet doesn't taper towards the clasp like the oyster bracelet which would add to the sense of the overall size.
