Yes, you'll have to get the battery changed every 2-3 years on the quartz vs service every 4-5 years on the automatic (assuming no problems crop up with the automatic-a big assumption). But service on the auto can easily run several hundred dollars, while a battery change will be in the $20-30 range. Although I'm sure someone's quartz
has had problems that need servicing, but I have NEVER seen a posting here concerning this.
