Yes, I´m convinced Rolex makes high quality watches. But I´m not convinced that a 100%"in-house" movement is *always* significantly much better than e.g., an ETA.
And IMO, the bracelets of Datejust is slightly of higher quality than the submariner, so certainly not all Rolex bracelets are "bad".
As I said, if Rolex would "update" the good ol´ submariner´s bracelet - the watch would be more
interesting and attractive! And If it then costed about 2000$, I´d buy one. But still, with no further improvement on/in the watch, but only increasing the price anually, It must be up to each person to decide to purchase or not.
I personally think it´s not simply worth it.
I´m a strict amature, with very little knowledge about movements & horology etc, but with a big portion of objectivity and careful reading of those who own/owned Rolex vs own Omega, there is a clear majority saying : "it´s not worth it" .
Hence, it is good news Rolex are changing the bracelet in some watches in their product line. Perhaps they´ve started to pay attention to some
criticism.
We can only hope they can make some improvements on the sub.
cheers,
/keo
