Re: Which Speedmaster to Get... (more)

Thanks for your response. Precisely, I have a problem in deciding the professionals and automatics. Assuming, I decided a professional or automatic, which particular watch model should I go for the professional and automatic.

Thanks in advance.

: DLim,

: Yours is a complex question that I can only begin to address.

: There two basic types of Speedmaster: The Professional and the Automatic.

: The Professional is the manual wind version commonly known as the moon watch.

: The Automatic series watches feature some type of automatic chronograph
: movement, normally a derivative of the 7750.

: There are just a few consistencies. All Speedmasters have 30meter water
: resistance, a factor that some feel detracts from the line. Almost all
: Professionals have acrylic crystals, almost all Automatics have synthetic
: sapphire crystals.

: Within these two groups are even further variations and options. Taking a
: look through the catalogues of one of the big online discounters (Ashford,
: World of Watches,, etc) will give you a feel for the entire
: line. Enjoy. The chase is the best part of the hunt!

: Jeff
