The Great Omega Serial Number Scavenger Hunt

I believe the Internet community of Omega enthusiasts needs an Omega serial number lookup table. Omega is great about giving you the information if you email them your serial number. But sometimes, we just need a quick reference to get a rough idea of when a watch was made.

So I am going to start collecting Omega serial numbers and production dates to produce such a table. Hopefully, I will also be able to discover exactly when certain feature changes occurred -- such as the change from the 1109 to 1120 movement, or the conversion from tritium-based phosphor to Super Luminova. (Anyone think of other feature or movement changes I should be looking for?)

So, if you have had Omega look up your watch's serial number and give you the production date, could you please email the following information to serial@dziglar.com:

Important:

  • The first 5 digits of your 8 digit serial number (60375xxx)
  • The model of your watch by name and/or number (Speedmaster Moon, 3570.50, Seamaster Pro, etc.)
  • The production date reported to you by Omega

    • Optional:
  • If your watch has either the 1109 or 1120 movement, please let me know which.
  • If your watch was made within the past year and you know whether your watch uses the Tritium-based phosphor or the new Super Lumimova, please let me know which.

    • I'll be publishing the table at the end of the weekend and keep updating it as more come in. To protect everyone's privacy, I will not be publishing or retaining any information about the owner -- only the generic info on each watch.

    If you haven't asked Omega yet, don't worry. Please let's not flood their email with dozens (hundreds?) of requests all at once. Ask them sometime in the next couple of weeks and then send me the info.
