I need a little help. RE: strap buckle

Hi all,

I have a Speedmaster 1957 replica on order (happy birthday to me!). The metal bracelet is nice but I also want to put it on a strap once in a while. I found a very nice strap that I'm planning to get but I stopped by an Omega dealer today and asked about ordering just the buckle that comes with the leather strap for a Speedmaster Professional. He told me that I needed to bring in the watch because he needed the serial number of the watch before he could order a buckle for me. I'm now thinking that I can't just get a nice Omega 18mm tang buckle for my watch.

Is it possible to order a buckle for my watch that is made for another watch? (i.e. Speedmaster Pro buckle for Speedmaster 1957)

I don't really care if I have an 'Omega' buckle, but I want one comparable in the quality of my watch. If someone can give me pointers to where I can get a really nice buckle, I would appreciate the info. -- send it to me by email if you wish. I've never used a deployant buckle. Should I look at those too?

And now for a really stupid question. Will I need to get another set of spring bars to put my watch on the strap? I don't have a clue if the spring bars with the bracelet are removable or not.

Thanks in advance for your help.
