Re: SM Chrono movement
In Response To: SM Chrono movement ()

I received the slick sheet on the Omega 1164 by snail mail. It was very nicely prepared and delivered in a clear plastic protective sleeve. It didn't give any real detail most of us already know, but it did confirm that there are 25 jewels in Omega's version of the Valjoux 7750. It also confirms that the movement in the SM Chrono is the 1164 now (replacing the 1154).

Unfortunately it did not specify the difference between the 1154 and the 1164.

: I just got this from Omega (see below). When they send the
: seperate mail on the details of the Omega 1164, I will post
: it here as well.

: ---> The movement of your Omega Seamaster Chrono Diver is
: of caliber 1164 (this movement has replaced the previous
: version of movement 1154). We are sending you by separate
: mail the technical information for the caliber 1164.

: Valjoux means "Vallée de Joux" or "Valley of
: Joux", a region in the Jura mountains of Switzerland
: where the watchmaking trade flourishes due to the skilled
: tradesmen which include craftsmen specialised in
: complicated watches and chronographs. The ETA Group has
: created several families of chronographs under the name
: Valjoux including the one based on calibre 7750. Within the
: Swatch Group (ex SMH), which includes the brand OMEGA,
: Valjoux produces the "customised" calibres OMEGA
: 1151 (based on 7751 - multiple display) - 1152 (based on
: 7750 - date) and 1164 (based on 7750) in chronometer
: version with official chronometer certificate of precision
: (COSC). Customized OMEGA calibres feature finely finished
: movements, Glucydur balance with Nivarox 1 spiral,
: pallet-stones, and a fine "Etachron" regulating
: system.

: We sincerely hope to have been helpful to you and remain,

: With kind regards
