Can't manually rewind Speedmaster

A few days ago I noticed that my automatic Speedmaster 3510.50 had stopped overnight even though I manually wind it every morning. I figured that I'd simply forgotten and rewound it again but now it stops again within a few minutes. The crown "clicks" as though the watch is completely rewound. Shaking the watch causes it to run much longer (a hour or so) so I suspect its just the manual rewind mechanism. I have always wound it gently and have not had any trouble up to now (its almost exactly 2 years old).

My questions are: what would cause this and what sort of repair cost am I looking at?

PS: fortunately my other 4 Omega's are ticking along just fine ;-) They all use the 1120 movement unlike the Speedmaster.
