Despite whatever evidence there may be about the "gleen of fish scales", you're talking about something with the statistical likelihood of getting struck by lightning and hit by a meteorite at the same time....in a tree house in Brazil. Not only are shark attacks on humans exceedingly rare, but the risk here is from something that "resembles the gleen of fish scales." I think the shark will just go for the actual fish scales doing the gleening. Bottom line is, you shouldn't let the fear of shark attacks keep you out of the water, let alone decide what you wear into it.....Unless you plan on wearing a belt of giant dead fish or something I suppose...
