seamaster pro 200M: to service or not to service?

I received my first Omega as a gift from my father who purchased a new Seamaster. It is the 2nd generation "pre-bond watch." If you don't know what I'm talking about you can see at:

Anyway over the past 10 years of use the watch has gotten some normal wear and tear. I was considering sending it to Omega for the complete maintenance service (250 swiss francs). I was wondering how much difference it will make to the appearance of the watch? My watch is the quartz model and still keeps superb time so I was wondering if this would be over kill? I was thinking of just waiting till the battery dies and then sending since battery replacement is included. Opinions?
