Re: What is the usage of Moon Phase?

: Dear all,
: What is the usage of Moon Phase function?
: Please help and explain. Or any introduction
: in internet??

It simply lets you know what phase the moon is in. In other words, even if it is daytime and you can't see the moon, when it does finally rise in the east, it will be showing about as much "face" as is shown by your moonphase display.

The display also lets you know if it is waxing (betting bigger) or waning (getting smaller) by simply noting if the little "moon" is moving into or out of the open display area.

The moonphase function does NOT tell you moonrise or moonset times. This can only be found from knowing your local latitude, longitude, and time/date.

I do not know who really needs this function other than astronomers who do not want to observe during bright moon periods or fisherman who claim that some fish are more likely to bite at night.
Hope this helps, MMC
