None of the current Speedmaster mechanical models are COSC certified.

Why? All better-brand modern watches should be about to operate withing COSC spec. So The actual COSC certification is really more a competitive and marketing gimmick that of real value.

Lack of the certification does not mean a watch is inferior! It merely means the manufacturer chose not to add the expense of this independent quality control test on top of their own tests.

So manufacturers add the COSC certification to the watches they think it will help sell them, or sell them at higher prices. The Speedmaster series sells itself quite well, so does not need this superficial extra.
