Titaniaum will hold its value better, since it's much more uncommon than steel. I know many people though that prefer steel because of the weight and feeling of the material - Titanium is very plasticky to the touch and is so light, it almost makes it feel cheap. Titanium is also a problem because it is softer than steel, and scratches much easier. Even worse, it's nearly impossible to refinish the watch like you can with a steel watch - once you scratch a titanium watch, that scratch stays. Of course, it's all up to you, and it is still true that titanium will hold its value better than steel.
