Re: WINDING THE SEAMASTER
In Response To: WINDING THE SEAMASTER ()

: How often should I wind My Seamaster?

Considering that millions of Seamaster watches have been made since 1947, you will need to be a little more specific on which exact model you have to get a definitive answer.

I'll assume it is an older model, since all the current Seamaster models are automatic or quartz so they don't need manual winding. Winding every other day should be sufficient. It does not hurt to wind daily, and it is easier to remember daily than every other day.

: Also how many turns are neccessary to fully wind it? Is it
: possible to "over-wind" the watch causing damage to it?

Again, not knowing WHICH Seamaster you have makes it impossible to give an accurate answer.

But in general, on most manual wind watches, you will feel resistance when it is wound fully. Never use force to wind the watch. The exact number of turns varies based on the watch movement. But 15 to 20 is usually sufficient.
