Hi.....i thought your comment about the "8 year battery life" on this watch interesting! Especially so since i've always thought watch bateries only had a 5 year "shelf life".......and THAT when stored properly in a cool environment! (and having no drain on them).

Also, i've seen too many watches that have had some battery leakage because the customer left the watch for too long with an old discharged battery still in it. (i change about 50 per week here at the mall.....and have been a jeweler 31 years so after quartz came out that's a whole lot of batteries!)

So, in spite of the claims of such long life, i'd be one to change a battery much sooner to protect the watch. Every 3 to 4 years at least.....
