Re: They're tougher than you think...

Hey, i wondered since I have the SMP Quartz (2541.80)version is can it also withdstand shocks
since it is a quartz SMP. Also, about swimming,
i know that getting a quartz watch wet can be a serious problem with bad seals, but can't the quartz SMP deliver also like the mechanical (automatic)?
thanks, Robert!

I swim with it all the time. Its just that hot
: water and any watch are nad news. Warm water
: is fine, but please know that the soapy
: water that hits the water resistant seals
: dries them up and does more damage. They can
: handle the shower no problem, it just wears
: the seals down much faster. So, its more of
: a precautionary measure to keep it clear of
: hot water (for your wallet's sake).
: Actually, an automatic handles water
: intrusion quite well. The movement remains
: undamaged, but be weary of quartz where if
: water gets in the whole movement is toast
: and a new one is needed. Most guidelines are
: just precautionary measures that people
: create to protect their investment. This
: thing looks great after a swim, the bracelet
: gets quite clean ;-).
