Don't concern yourself with bracelet scratches. They're going to happen, period. Just wear the watch and enjoy. You'll find that the clasp gets light scratches very easily. The cheapest and easiest remedy for this is to lightly "sand" the clasp with a scotch-brite pad in one direction, not circular. Then buff it with some brasso and a cotton t-shirt. Some people recommend satin finish bars and so on which are excellent as well, but not available everywhere.

You should have the watch serviced every 5-7 years. Avoid hot water like the shower and hot-tubs or you'll be replacing the gaskets often.
