Re: Help! Can't decide speedy vs. bond bracelet

: I want to get a Seamaster professional with
: black dial/bezel. I can't decide what type
: of bracelet look best on this watch. Help,
: comment on speedy vs. bond bracelet for
: Seamaster.

I can't recall if the speedy clasp differs from the braided / bond clasp. In general, I would say I chose the bond bracelet because after holding a submariner I thought that link style of bracelet felt "weak" and too thin for a valuable sports watch. I can only assume that the speedy bracelet is similar to the submariner bracelet. In fact, I did hold a SMP w/speedy bracelet a while back and I recall that it was quite similar in look and feel to the submariner bracelet. The braided bond bracelet feels much heavier and stronger. Also, I prefer the clasp on the bond as opposed to the clasp on the submariner.

Lastly, the speedy bracelet makes the SMP w/black bezel look closer and closer to a submariner. I specifically chose the SMP over the submariner and the bracelet was somewhat of a factor. More importantly, as trival as it is to admit -- I preferred look of the SMP over the submariner.
