Re: SMP - Quartz or Auto
In Response To: SMP - Quartz or Auto ()

I agree with Steve - an analog quartz is a glorified Seiko and concur with Hacmac - don't buy Quartz just because of the price...
2 years ago I bought the mid size Quartz SMP because I thought I would go nuts knowing that my watch would be -4/+3 secs a day plus it was cheaper... anyway within 6 months I bought the X-33 and sold my Quartz SMP because I figured that if I'm going to wear aQuartz Omega it might as well be the most featured and complicated one Omega has... anyway, one and a half years later... I have just bought the auto full size SMP and I couldn't be happier... I've had it for a few days now and you know what, I couldn't be bothered if it was +4/-5 secs off a day. So long as it keeps time within 1 min of the other clocks I have around me - I am satisfied. The moral of 'my' story; if you liked the 2531.80 you will get it sooner or later... mid size and quartz are just distractions!
